Within the solemn halls of the Amsterdam Courthouse, where the complexities of justice meet society, the hard stone walls stand in stark contrast to Aldo’s use of humble materials such as soil, cardboard, and wood.

The exhibition Echo endeavors to stimulate encouraging a deeper exploration of emotions and experiences. Each piece becomes a portal into van den Broek’s own introspective odyssey, amidst a landscape where notions of right and wrong are constantly scrutinized.

Within this environment, waiting and reflecting may bring about confusion. The exhibition encourages viewers to reconsider their role and the weight of their responsibilities. Avoiding, judging, and embracing are all entangled in intricate gestures that evoke feelings of guilt and shame, intertwining with the daily life within the halls of justice.
